- Gather the tools you will need: a Phillips screwdriver, the SPD cleats, and your cycling shoes.
- Locate the cleat holes on the bottom of your cycling shoes. The cleat holes should be located near the ball of your foot.
- Align the cleats with the cleat holes on your shoes.
- Insert the screws into the cleats and tighten them with the Phillips screwdriver. Do not overtighten the screws.
- Test the cleats by walking around in your shoes. The cleats should release easily when you twist your foot outward.
